Das atopische Ekzem ist an sich nur die bezeichnung des Symptomes der Neurodermitis. Es handelt sich um einen Hautabschnitt, der gerötet, manchmal schuppig und manchmal nässend ist.
Neurodermitis tritt oft als Allergie-Symptom im Säuglingsalter auf. Ursache sind oft Unverträglichkeiten von Kuhmilch und/oder Hühnereiweiß.
Die Neurodermitis an sich gilt als nicht heilbar. Es ist oft sogar sehr schwierig, den Ursachen auf die Spur zu kommen. Behandelbar ist die Neurodermitis und damit das atopische Ekzem aber schon. Wenn auch die Wirkung der eingesetzten Therapien nicht in jedem Fall die gleiche ist. Quellen: Vivesco®
